A Discourse on Embodiment

discourse.jpg

A sound installation where dancers and visual artists speak on the subject of embodiment.  The piece was exhibited as part of Choreo-talks at Reykjavík Dance Festival 2017, an evening of experiments where five choreographers each presented a short choreographic lecture.

-Excerpts-

"Let's say that we have a body or that we are a body but also something else, and so the psychic experience of being embodied for me would mean this constant vibration between the two, this in and out vibration."

"There are moments where I feel like my body is unrecognizable."

"I felt like I could go through things."

"These tiny little motions that my body makes become very very important, like being alive and dead at the same time."

"Constantly falling in and out of the body, out and into the other, if there is another."
